Quotes from past ILPAS support applicants
Tom Leddy of Elk Grove Village High School:
With the support from ILPAS and the Local Event Support Program, not only were we able to connect with the entire Illinois percussion community, but we were able to bring in a nationally recognized ensemble this year to perform (Third Coast Percussion). The event was a huge success! In addition, ILPAS had well deserved exposure to a host of talented percussionists that may not have known about this great organization.
Christopher Dandeles of Waubonsie Valley High School:
This is a big, overdue thank you to the Illinois PAS chapter executive board! Illinois PAS graciously contributed funds to the Waubonsie Valley Schlagzeugfest, which was incredibly helpful in bringing great artists to our school in these trying economic times. Working with Greg, Ruben and Doug made me feel like I (and my program) was part of a community with common purpose. It was great to know that Illinois PAS supported what we were doing, and I was so proud to announce to our students and audience that the Percussive Arts Society helped make the day possible. The Percussive Arts Society is doing so many great things in our global community, and it is nice to know that is involved in the local communities too!
Adam Cowger of Joliet Junior College:
On behalf of the JJC Percussion Studio, I extend the most sincere thanks to the ILPAS Executive Committee. Liam Teague’s clinic and performance with the JJC Percussion Ensemble was a wonderfully inspiring event for my students and the community. The support ILPAS provides is a tremendous resource for all of those involved in the Illinois percussion community! Thank you for helping to make our event possible!
